OEMs have already begun to introduce displays that no longer require looking down at a physical element, but instead are integrated on transparent screens in front of the driver. But with the introduction of this technology comes questions of integration, safety and how realistic it is to have head-up displays covering entire windscreens in the next 1, 3 or 10 years.
Automotive IQ spoke with Arèf Antoine Tahhan, HMI Solution Manager at Stellantis to learn more on the technology behind head-up displays (HUDs), how they can enhance user experience and safety, and what has and hasn’t worked for Stellantis when developing them.
