The Cybersecurity Top Trends 2023

Cybersecurity continues to be one of the hottest topics contributing towards the development of autonomous, electric, and connected vehicles, and with potential attack risks at the forefront and new standards and regulations coming in to play; the industry has been (and still is) keen to deal with cybersecurity in a practical and systematic way.

The industry is being moved in this direction by the UNECE WP29 regulation, which was enacted in June 2020 and requires automotive OEMs to integrate vehicle cybersecurity along the whole value chain. OEMs must develop a robust cybersecurity framework that complies with changing automotive rules in order to compete in the new automotive landscape and maintain ecosystem confidence.

How can we prevent hackers from commandeering vital automotive systems and collecting private information? Managing secure access for several authorised stakeholders, including drivers, car manufacturers, automotive IoT platforms, service providers, insurance providers, and maintenance operators, is essential to protecting connected automobiles and thwarting attacks.
