The EV transition, autonomous driving, autonomous/software-defined vehicle platforms, and steer-by-wire continue to be the biggest drivers for the steering segment of the automotive industry. While steer-by-wire has been talked about for a long time, and actual introduction into the market is taking longer than expected, the market continues to grow in the direction of SbW.
Majority of the steering segment’s motivation is now coming from balancing cost with innovation, achieving premium feel & performance, and looking at actual production solutions instead of futuristic concepts. There is always room for safety improvement and chasing 100% safe or zero fault, fully functional steering systems.
As OEMs continuing to push Tier 1 companies to design better, cheaper, and safer products, the dynamic between vehicle manufacturers and suppliers is also shifting and co-development, collaborative partnerships are becoming a new way of working.
Recognizing the current state of the US automotive steering systems segment, this year’s Automotive Steering Systems USA plenary digs deep into major industry drivers and delivers practical solutions to the industry’s greatest challenges.
