2024 is the year of UN ECE R155/R156 and a major milestone for the automotive industry. Looking ahead to 2025, regulations and standards will continue to be key drivers and catalysts for automotive cyber security. By the time the Automotive Cyber Security Europe 2024 conference kicks off in November, not only will existing regulations be fully active, but new, worldwide regulations will have emerged, including vehicle cyber security regulations in China, Cyber Resilience Act and the NIS2 Directive.

Until now, automotive companies were racing to achieve Type Approval; Now, they are competing to improve cyber security and begin tracking, monitoring and maintenance in a threat landscape that is constantly changing. Vehicle manufacturers are putting more and more effort into security, not just in technological innovation. Threat intelligence and vulnerability management has never been more important, with automotive companies focusing heavily on cyber security testing. These are new and evolving technical areas that all players in the supply chain must get on top of and build technical capabilities in.

As the automotive industry enters its next phase, increases maturity, scales cyber security across all products, and leverages AI, Generative AI, and Post-Quantum Cryptography to improve and streamline cyber security processes, drivers including software-defined vehicles, connectivity, autonomy, and electrification continue to fuel automotive cyber security, making it as mainstream as technological innovation.

Automotive Cyber Security Europe 2024 is returning to Frankfurt, Germany co-located with the Software-Defined Vehicles Europe & Connected Vehicles Europe events, at a time when new threat actors and attacks are emerging day by day from all sides of the supply chain, standards, and regulations from other regions, including China, are projected to be released soon, and cyber security becomes more and more important. Automotive IQ invites you to join experts as they delve into the latest proven use cases from OEM experts, address the biggest real-time challenges, and take a look at capabilities of future-looking cyber security solutions.
