Euro 7, the incoming regulation from the European Commission (EC), is set to usher in new standards for the automotive industry – and the clock is ticking. By 2025, new vehicles in Europe must reduce emissions to meet the European Green Deal’s zero-pollution ambitions. If adopted successfully, Euro 7 has been projected to halve road emissions by 2035.
The EC says it will “ensure cleaner vehicles on our roads and improved air quality, protecting the health of our citizens and the environment.” However, with the new rules applying to tire wear particles for the first time, reducing tire emissions is now in sharper focus than ever before.
