Welcome to the 9th Annual Battery Technologies for EV/HEV 2024, an essential gathering for automotive companies that view batteries as one of the most critical components in the vehicle and are prioritising cost reduction, weight reduction, higher power density, ultra-fast charging, greater range, and improved safety as key targets

While the industry has not witnessed dramatic changes in the last twelve months, there are several ongoing developments; different cell chemistries and next-generation cells are coming onto the market, there is a big push to make batteries light and more energy dense, with safety, cost and performance continuing to remain major challenges. OEMs are looking for a 10% charge to 80% charge in 10-12 minutes. Ultimately, the buyer’s decisions are down to charging time and range.

While batteries have not yet reached their theoretical limits with respect to energy densities, and making sure batteries remain light and more energy dense is a high priority, OEMs are facing a trade-off triangle. To top it off, Chinese EV giants are now building and releasing vehicles into the European market at a cost that is relatively lower cost than European and US OEMs, and there is a greater need now than ever before to prepare to compete with lower-cost Chinese vehicles.

The 9th Annual Battery Technologies for EV/HEV 2024 conference is 100% driven by current industry trends and the automotive companies’ greatest drivers and motivators, and delivers three full days of insight, real-world case studies and practical solutions to the industry’s immediate and imminent challenges.

Speaker Spotlight

Automotive IQ is excited to announce that John H. Kwon, General Counsel at CATL will speak at #EVBatteryTech2024 this October.

John will take to the stage to share insights on how existing global supply chains are being disrupted and re-organised following the passage of new raw material acts in Europe and the US, and how trade barriers are adversely affecting vertically integrated operations of battery manufacturer, resulting in cost pressures on the end users of EV batteries.
