HOW TO BUILD, IMPLEMENT & EXPAND CHARGING INFRASTRUCTURE

Being troubled with high gas prices, a lot of people for the first time are considering switching to an electric car. With this very strong increase of EVs coming into market, there’s a shortage of high-power charging points in all of the CPOs networks in Central Europe. The focus therefore is fulfilling the transition from combustion to electric engine.

Join these industry lead workshops, giving active participation opportunities for you and your peers to highlight, discuss and find solutions to building, implementing & expanding charging infrastructure to prepare for exponential growth in the next three years.

WHAT TO EXPECT:

  • 30-minute presentation from current automotive companies, utilities, energy companies, infrastructure investors and city planners
  • 30-minute small group discussion, moderated by key industry professionals, to share and discuss individual solutions
  • 30-minute group discussion, for feedback and identifying solutions to industry pain points

Note: The ‘Battery Recycling & Second Life’ Focus Day from EV Battery Technologies & Management Systems 2022 will be running alongside the ‘How to Build, Implement & Expand EV Charging Infrastructure’ Focus Day – attendees will have the option to attend either.

7:45 am - 8:45 am REGISTRATION & WELCOME COFFEE

8:45 am - 10:15 am WORKSHOP A | OVERCOMING THE SHORTAGE OF CHARGING POINTS

Michelangelo Aveta - Electromobility & Energy Efficiency - Electrification Lead, Eurelectric

SHARING ACTUAL STRATEGIES & KNOW-HOW TO QUICKLY BUILD CHARGING NETWORKS

Workshop A will focus on the discussions surrounding knowledge & strategies for building charging networks:

Part 1:Presentation clearly mapping out where there is a shortage of charge points and what needs to happen to alleviate the current and imminent strain

Part 2:Sharing technical knowledge and actual plan of action to build and roll-out charging networks

Part 3:Exchangewithexperts in smaller groups what the plan of action needs to be

Part 4:Sharing recommendations with the rest of the group

10:45 am - 12:15 pm WORKSHOP B | ACHIEVE THE BALANCE BETWEEN A HIGH-PERFORMANCE CHARGING NETWORK, HIGH CHARGING SPEEDS & WHAT THEVEHICLE CAN HANDLE

ANALYSING REAL-WORLD NEEDS, NOT THEORETICAL OPTIMUMS

Workshop B will focus on the discussions surrounding implementing charging networks that fit real-world needs:

Part 1:Presentation on the need and not the theoretical optimum of building a charging network and highlighting what will the electricity demand be

Part 2:Sharing technical knowledge on the realities of EV batteries and impact of charger demand

Part 3:Collaborate in smaller groups on real-world needs and solution ideas to achieve this

Part 4:Present suggestions with the rest of the group

12:15 pm - 1:15 pm LUNCH BREAK IN THE NETWORKING SPACE

1:15 pm - 2:45 pm WORKSHOP C | FUTURE OF EV CHARGING

Richard Hackforth-Jones - Head of Charging & Electrification, Jaguar

OPPORTUNITIES TO DISRUPT THE SECTOR & PREPARE FOR GROWTH

Workshop C will focus on how the EV charging space will evolve and expand, and what the ecosystems need to manage and overcome current problems and hurdles:

Part 1:Presentation on building intelligent infrastructure to match the changing energy world, and the regulatory framework for all European member states to create charging

infrastructure

Part 2:Sharing what is the relevant and adequate infrastructure need to match the speed of EV growth

Part 3:Discuss in smaller groups the best options to prepare for growth

Part 4:Contribute ideas to the rest of the group
