Lithium-ion batteries at low temperatures have slow recharge times alongside reduced available power and energy. Battery heating is an effective way to address this issue, and many methods have been proposed, however, there are a lack of studies quantitatively comparing methods rather than qualitatively. Indeed, it is complicated to make a fair quantitative comparison due to the existence of many different batteries with different heating parameters. This presentation will start making a qualitative review of all existing methods and then will introduce a new universal comparison indicator for a quantitative review of heating methods, so called the heating triangle.
