Started my career in metal industry 1995 at Th. Goldschmidt AG, which was pioneer in new chemical and metallurgical products. From 1998 – 2019 working as sales manager for Kymera International (ECKA Granules) and was in charge for the worldwide sale of metal powder and white metal. In 2010 working as Raw Material Trader at F.W. Hempel Metallurgical in Düsseldorf and in 2011 moved back to Essen working for Trimet AG (Germany’s biggest Aluminium producer) in Sales and Marketing. Since 2012 team leader at thyssenkrupp Materials Trading GmbH for trading of Nickel, Aluminium and Tin. Strong development to bring the profits on record high in 2021 and keen to work in project called Battery Material Recycling.
EV production is ramping up, and the geopolitical situation is unpredictable. China is continuing to dominate the upstream materials and commodity market. While Europe wants to become independent and leverage recycling as a way to produce raw materials, the infrastructure is currently not in place. Until Europe reaches the point of having a circular economy, we will be heavily dependent on China. On top of that, material costs are increasing. If the costs rise any more, and if the supply chain bottlenecks don’t ease, EV manufacturers and manufacturing will be seriously affected.
