Pre-Conference Workshop Day

Start of Pre-Conference Workshop Day

8:00 am - 8:15 am REGISTRATION FOR WORKSHOP A

8:15 am - 10:15 am WORKSHOP A - THERMAL MANAGEMENT DURING ULTRA FAST CHARGING

Ultra Fast Charging can speed up the charging time for electric vehicles, but at a cost. The high amount of electricity transfer generates heat that needs to be properly managed,
for safety and for the longevity of the battery. This workshop will use a recent case study to see what adjustments were made and implemented to control the amount of heat
during Ultra Fast Charging. There will also be a group work session in the second half of the workshop so that participants will be able to apply what they have just learned.
8:15am – Case Study
9:00am – Q&A session
9:15am – Break out into groups and meet the challenge
9:45am – Share insights with the rest of attendees
10:00am – Debrief
10:15am – End of Workshop A

10:15 am - 10:30 am REGISTRATION FOR WORKSHOP B

10:30 am - 12:30 pm WORKSHOP B - BALANCING THE NEW TECHNOLOGIES

Scott Bang - Engineering Director, BYTON
Thermal Management encompasses many components within an electric vehicle. All of these parts have their own functions, but must work cohesively for the best efficiency
output. Join this workshop to understand the balance and interplay between the thermal components in order to keep track of what is being put in and taken out.
10:30am – Case Study
11:15am – Q&A session
11:30am – Break out into groups and meet the challenge
11:45am – Share insights with the rest of attendees
12:15pm – Debrief
12:30pm – End of Workshop B

1:15 pm - 1:30 pm REGISTRATION FOR WORKSHOP C

1:30 pm - 3:30 pm WORKSHOP C: TOTAL THERMAL ENERGY MANAGEMENT: FROM CRADLE TO GRAVE

Akshay Sheorey - Engagement Manager, Siemens PLM Software
At every stage of electric vehicle development, tests and simulations are needed to create a vehicle that is performing at the most optimal requirements as possible. All the different components branch out into separate areas of focus but it is time to look at all these connections together at a holistic level.
1:30pm – Case Study
2:15pm – Q&A session
2:30pm – Break out into groups focusing on different facet
of the electric vehicle to pinpoint challenge areas and
brainstorm solutions
2:45pm – Present insights to the rest of the attendees
