Tobias Glossmann has more than
18 years of experience in advanced battery research and development at Daimler.
He manages research projects, collaborations and technology evaluation with
commercial and academic partners of Mercedes-Benz R&D North America. He
holds an engineering diploma from Esslingen University of Applied Sciences in
Electronics/Mechatronics, a Master of Science in Chemistry from Oakland
University and he is working on a PhD in Biomedical Sciences. Since he was
actively involved in a variety of issues that included high voltage system
design, thermal management, battery controls, materials evaluation and system
integration he has gained experience in research as well as in
commercialization. He is currently interested in interfaces and material
properties in solid-state batteries, the use of computational methods to
support the interpretation of analytical data, redox-active organic materials
and Li-sulfur batteries.
