A new era of aviation is taking off. The aviation industry is experiencing growth in new and innovative aircraft design and operations. In recent months, we have seen several major announcements in Advanced Air Mobility (AAM).

  • Joby Aviation has successfully flown a first-of-its-kind hydrogen-electric air taxi demonstrator 523 miles, with water as the only by-product.
  • Supernal LLC, Hyundai Motor Group's Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) company, and Sigma Air Mobility, a Luxaviation Group company announced a joint effort to identify and develop targeted markets for future AAM infrastructure and investments.
  • Vertical Aerospace has unveiled its next-generation prototype VX4 electric vertical-takeoff-and-landing (eVTOL) vehicle, paving the way for initial piloted flight tests later this year.
  • Through a MoU, Eve Air Mobility and Siemens Smart Infrastructure are teaming up to evaluate the electrical infrastructure and energy management services needed to support safe, efficient and scalable eVTOL operations.
  • Airbus and Avincis, a well-established European helicopter operator, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to partner on the development of Advanced Air Mobility (AAM).
  • Michigan Allots Over $6M for Advanced Air Mobility Projects.
  • The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) of Saudi Arabia and Lilium have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU).

A new wave of small electric aircraft has become the most hyped aspect of aviation’s advanced air mobility (AAM) sector. Backed by billions of dollars in venture capital and established aerospace giants that include Boeing and Airbus, startups across the world are spearheading this technological revolution, developing eVTOL aircraft that could transform the way we travel.
